Spinal cord (part) & spinal nerves

Product code: HP1206

  • Whole Whole region / system / unpaired organ.

The spinal cord carries sensory and motor information between the brain and body, and contains reflex pathways associated with tendons, muscles, withdrawal, and viscera. It is formed by numerous axon tracts, interneurons, synapses, nerve cell bodies, and neural support cells, all of which contribute to its changing regional morphology. This Silicone Plastinate reveals the external structure of part of the spinal cord and the origin and course of the proximal parts of the associated spinal nerves. The position and structure of the cauda equina can be explored, alongside the meningeal coverings and related spaces
