The heart is a sophisticated muscular pump servicing two different circulations, the lower pressure pulmonary circulation and the higher-pressure systemic circulation. This Silicone Plastinate provides a unique four-chamber long axis view of the chambers, walls, and internal features of the heart, via a transverse cut. The differential structure of the left and right sides of the heart and their three-dimensional relationship are perfectly presented, alongside the course and territory of the coronary arteries, and the orientation, position, and morphology of the great and major systemic vessels. In addition, the orientation of the arterial outflows relative to the ventricles and septa can be directly visualised, thereby facilitating the study of cardiac embryology.
