Digestive system (anatomical position)
Product code: HP1103
-
Whole Whole region / system / unpaired organ.
The digestive system traverses the head, neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and perineum. The main parts of the gastrointestinal tract are neatly packaged into the compact yet highly functional abdominopelvic cavity. A knowledge of the position and orientation of these structures informs safe interventional and surgical procedures, and proficient physical examination and reading of medical (radiographic) images. This Silicone Plastinate uniquely reveals the natural disposition of the gastrointestinal tract, from mouth to anus from multiple perspectives allowing learners to quickly explore and visualise their morphology, relationships, and peritoneal position.
