Stomach

Product code: HP1501

  • Whole Whole region / system / unpaired organ.

The stomach is the widest part of the alimentary tract located in the upper abdomen. It is an intraperitoneal organ capable of dramatic changes in volume and shape. The stomach produces chyme via mechanical and chemical processes, initiates peristaltic reflexes, and has roles in regulating the release of chyme, microbial defence, and hormone and protein synthesis. This Silicone Plastinate provides uninterrupted views of the distal oesophagus, stomach and pyloric canal, and gastric branches of the gastric and gastro-omental arteries.  The stomach is presented in its dilated (full) state, making its shape, borders, features and regions easily identifiable.
